The Reunion Event
This event is primarily attended by people who worked at the Scott Plaza complex, which is near the Philadelphia Airport. However, anyone who worked for Scott Paper Company at any of its locations worldwide is invited. You are also welcome to bring spouses and adult children.
The first reunion was held in 1995, about a year after the first very large layoff of personnel. At least 200 people attended that year. In 2007, we had about 75 people. There was no reunion in 2008, because the facility was closed for renovations. In 2009, we had about 66 people. We are trying out a new place this year, and are expecting a large turnout.
Invitations are initially sent by email to about 750 email addresses in May of each year, using the email list that is in the Scott Plaza Directory (described below). The invitation is then passed on via phone and email throughout a network of Scotties who keep connected with each other. Therefore, you may hear about this from several people.

About the New Location - A Taste of Key West:
The restaurant is located on the water (Darby Creek) at the Ridley Township Marina. It has both indoor and outdoor dining areas. It has plenty of parking and plenty of space.
Directions - If you use GPS or Google Maps or MapQuest with the address of 401 South Swarthmore Ave, they will get you close, but not quite there. Continue on South Swarthmore Ave all the way to the end of the road, where it enters the Marina. The restaurant will be directly ahead of you on the water, just to the left of the boat ramp.
From Interstate 95, take Exit #8 for Stewart Avenue. If you were traveling North on 95, then turn left onto Stewart. If you were traveling South on 95, then turn right onto Stewart. Go about a quarter mile and turn right at the traffic light onto Chester Pike (Rte 13) toward Taylor Hospital. Continue about 0.33 miles and turn right onto South Swarthmore Avenue (which is before the hospital). Follow S. Swarthmore Ave into the marina at the end of the road.Parking - Park where you see signs that say restaurant parking. There is more parking to the left and behind the restaurant.
The owners are Eve and George Dougherty. You may remember Eve as Eve Kapurelos when she worked at Compensation & Benefits in Scott Plaza One.
Lodging Information for those of you who may be coming from out of town:
The nearest hotel I recommend is the Comfort Inn in Essington PA. They are very close to the main intersection in town, and are about 1.5 miles from the restaurant. Phone = 610-521-9800. Address = 53 Industrial Highway, Essington PA 19029 USA. Rates are $69 to $99, depending upon how many nights and which nights. Their van will provide free transport between the airport and the hotel, but not to the restaurant. They offer free wireless broadband Internet access everywhere in the hotel. Local telephone calls are free. They offer a free continental style breakfast in the lobby for every guest. They have some rooms available in the vicinity of 17 June 2010.
There is a group of nice hotels on Bartram Avenue, closer to the airport, but these are about 7 or 8 miles away from the restaurant. If you want information about these hotels, please contact Carl Ingalls (see contact info above).
There are photos that can be viewed online for every Reunion event since 2003. Most of them have names to go with the faces. If you can help identify some of the nameless, please email Carl Ingalls (Carl@EmbossingTechnologies.com), or phone him at 610-627-9030. Please identify which year and which photo and which position in the photo.
