Scott Paper Alumni Fall Luncheon 2007 at Aronimink Golf Club

6 September 2007

Dear Scott Paper Alumni Friends:

As I told you in an earlier email, our Philadelphia area Scott Paper Alumni fall luncheon will take place on Thursday, October 11.  As in our recent spring meeting, the lunch will be in the newly expanded banquet room at the Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, PA.  We will start the event with a cash bar at 11:15 AM and will go in for lunch at 12:15 PM.

As I previously told you, I have become engaged in the steering committee of a national renewable energy initiative called 25x’25.  That stands for moving the country from the 7% of our total energy that comes from fully renewable resources today, to 25% by the year 2025.  I want to tell you about the importance of this initiative to our country and economy.  At the lunch, I will give you a talk that will cover the national energy security importance of the initiative, the impact to climate change, the benefits to economic renewal in rural America, and will share a set of actions that each of us can take individually to conserve energy and to begin to acquire renewable energy.

The cost of the lunch continues to be $30.00 per person.  Please feel free to include your spouse or other guest you would like to bring.  There is plenty of room in the new ballroom, as those of you saw who joined us in the spring.  We will have special guests in attendance, Mr. Kazuo Sugi (formerly with Sanyo Scott) and his wife will travel from Japan to be with us.  Sugi-san is eager to see many of his old Scott Paper friends.

In order to make your reservation, simply send your check to me for the amount that will cover the number of people in your party.  Make the check payable to Bruce Arnold and write "Scott Fall Luncheon" on the memo line.  You need not reply by email, as your check will be your confirmed reservation.  I need to have your check no later than October 6, as I will need to give a firm headcount to the golf club for the number of meals to prepare.

Again, the meal will include an appetizer, an entree with starch and vegetable, rolls and butter, coffee or tea and a dessert.  Thus, it is more like an evening meal than a typical lunch menu.

If you need directions to the Aronimink Golf Club, please let me know and I will provide them to you.

It is also time for me to gather information for my fall newsletter.  I would appreciate hearing from any of you who would like to have a few lines included to let our group know of your recent events.  Please send me your news by return email.

I hope to see many of you on October 11.

Best regards,

Bruce
